Q: Is Herons Landing a gated community?

To increase security and keep traffic at a minimum, we maintain two gates at our west entrance (via Oakwood Road). Homeowners use cards and remote controls for easy access through the gates. The public entrance is located off of Port Clinton Road, just west of Buffalo Grove Road.
Q: Do homes in Herons Landing use well water?

Exclusively, Herons Landing is Long Grove's only community with Lake Michigan water. Water was originally provided by wells, which homeowners now use for their lawns and landscapes.
Q: How does Stevenson High School rank in Illinois or the U.S.?

In 2019, Stevenson was the highest-rated public high school in Illinois, according to latest rankings U.S. News and World Report. In 2020, the publication ranked Stevenson 6th overall in Illinois and 150th nationwide. Stevenson also ranked 66th nationally for best in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), which is based primarily on participation levels and success on Advanced Placement science and mathematics exams. Q: Is there a local community swimming pool for my children?

Yes, the Vernon Township Aquatic Center is less than a mile from our neighborhood. The center offers a swimming pool, water slides and kiddie pool.
